It was previously used at BMW for clear coat application on luxury car bodies and, with its 40,000 operating hours, it has a considerable amount of working life behind it. The robots at BMW operated on a rail system, which is why the controller features a large additional amplifier. A second auxiliary amplifier is used for driving the shoulder-mounted motors for gear pumps; however, these motors are not installed. The rail motor would be connected directly to the robot. The cable length between the robot and the controller is 10m and features plug-in connections at the controller—this is also a notable feature. We can assist with transportation and installation. The robot, together with its controller, is fixed transport-ready on a special pallet measuring 2500x800x1600mm. It is currently configured as a left-arm, left-handed version. It is equipped with line tracking. However, this configuration can easily be changed without mechanical modifications. It features a very special configuration. It was originally intended for coating wind turbine blades. For this purpose, it was mounted on a 60-meter-long rail, which included an additional rail enabling the robot to move up and down. Therefore, two large additional amplifiers are integrated in the controller. The encoder brake module is also duplicated for this reason. Another unique feature of this robot is that motors are installed in the shoulder to control two gear pumps, making 2-component mixing on the robot effortless. The robot was never actually put into operation. The operating hours accrued solely because the robot remained powered. The system operators (Enercon) have confirmed this. The actual Servo ON time is only 0.2 hours. The robot shows minor signs of contamination but is practically in mint condition. Unfortunately, the teach pendant and teach cable are heavily soiled, but they can be replaced if required. The cable length between the robot and the controller is 5 m and features a plug-in connection at the controller – another special feature.
