PROTON Cardan type

Cardan conveyors are trolley models consisting of 4 bearing groups that move within a closed track. These types of conveyors are indispensable due to their vibration-free operation, automatic lubrication function, and robust design.

The drive unit of the universal joint shaft is mounted on top and designed either as a caterpillar type or a side-mounted gearbox equipped with a safety switch. Distances between the chain hangers are 400 mm and available in multiples thereof. Through the central lubrication unit within the system, the chain bearings are lubricated automatically at the desired interval. The torque limiter is used to protect the conveyor system in the event of compressed drive units or excessive force.

The chain-mounted bearings can operate at up to 250 °C. The conveyor chain tensioning system can be implemented with either a spring or a bolt. The cardan conveyor rail is particularly robustly bent from sheet metal. In long conveyor systems, multiple drive units are used, with synchronised operation between the drive units ensured in such systems. According to requirements, there are three types: light-duty, medium-duty, and heavy-duty.
