Cutter Head Setting and Measuring Machine
In the manufacturing process for spiral bevel gears, the quality of the gear cutting tools used plays a decisive role. Especially in dry milling, high gearing quality and long tool life can only be achieved with precisely adjusted cutter heads.

The CS 200 cutter head setting and measuring device enables fast and simple adjustment of individual cutters, checks their position, and documents the measurement results. The measuring sequence on the CNC-controlled inspection device is semi-automated: the individual actions required for each step are shown on the display and guided by operator prompts. Positioning of the individual cutters in the cutter head, including the height of the cutter tips, is carried out largely automatically via a special procedure and simultaneously recorded via a run-out diagram. A follow-up measuring process checks the radial position of all internal and external cutting edges in the cutter head. If certain parameters do not meet the specified tolerances, they can be individually readjusted. Thanks to the combination of semi-automated adjustment sequence, operator-guided setup actions, and automated measuring process, cutter heads can be set conveniently, quickly, and with high precision.
