Universal Testing Machine
The universal testing machines of type "QUASAR" are designed as single-space testing machines and essentially comprise the following assemblies:
Machine frame: The construction and structure of the machine load frame are designed to withstand the specified maximum loads where required.
Electromechanical load application with toothed belt drive, pulleys, drive with DC or brushless servo motor, and ball screw spindles.
Load measurement system with force transducer suitable for both tension and compression tests.
Electronic control unit that manages all functions: regulation and control, monitoring, and acquisition of output signals from the measuring amplifiers for force, elongation, and crosshead travel.
The system is based on a 32-bit processor with a clock rate of 25 MHz; analog signal acquisition is performed by a 20-bit A/D converter. The electronic controller is usually installed in the machine base alongside most of the electrical drive and power supply components.
Operator interface via PC, connected to the electronic control board via a high-speed RS232 serial interface at 38400 baud.
