Innovation doesn’t stop at round bar milling machines. Our models for cylindrical milling of logs feature a number of new developments. Their modular construction allows any business to precisely select the size and configuration best suited to their specific woodworking requirements.

Technology:
All roller pairs are operated for opening and closing via a valve manifold – eliminating all mechanical diameter adjustments. This removes unnecessary recalibration when changing setups. And if a log happens to be thicker than usual, it’s no longer an issue.
Soft starters allow the milling motors to ramp up gently before reaching full power. Alternatively, and particularly useful for unstable power supplies, a frequency inverter can be provided to manage start-up.
With a processing range from 30 up to 400 mm across all models, these milling machines meet even the most demanding requirements.

Efficiency:
You determine your pace and productivity: first by choosing between a single-head or double-head milling machine. For perfect surface quality, VKM machines operate their milling heads at higher rotational speeds. All components were modeled using finite element analysis, which reduces the number of parts and thus the risk of malfunction. The high rotational speeds of the milling heads also guarantee fast cutting speeds.
Depending on the model, feed speeds of up to 35 m/min are achievable. The benefits? More speed, more precision, more performance.

Safety:
Simple operation is ensured by the central control panel. Mounted pressure regulators for each roller section are located right beside it. Feed speed can be reduced at any time if needed. All doors are fitted with electronic interlocks and can only be opened once the machine stops. All these features provide maximum operator safety while maintaining peak performance in daily operation.
