Machine Features

The CORMAK HBS260 is a horizontal metal bandsaw with a swiveling arm, enabling perpendicular cuts to the axis of the material as well as mitre cuts at any angle from 0 to 60°. Workpieces can be fed manually or by any mechanical device, while the blade feed operates automatically. The blade guides are fitted with special carbide inserts and bearings, significantly enhancing blade life, straightness, and cutting accuracy. Carbide guidance greatly reduces wear on the machine and the blade. The machine is equipped with an efficient cooling pump with a closed coolant circuit.

The bandsaw arm is made from a single-piece cast iron element. The 27 mm wide blade allows for high-volume, repetitive cutting of both profiles and solid materials. The vice is mounted on an adjustable bed and fitted with a quick-release clamp. The blade guides are equipped with hard metal (carbide) inserts and roller bearings – THE CARBIDE INSERT GUIDES are responsible for cutting precision and straightness.

The raised structure of the upper base forms a trough for coolant drainage and chip collection. The cast iron base includes a swiveling arm worktable and a control panel mounted on a separate arm. During cutting, the main cutting motion is the movement of the saw band, while the downward motion of the arm serves as the feed. Arm descent speed (cutting speed) is hydraulically adjustable.

Feed rate is adjustable on the bandsaw’s control panel. Two blade speeds are selectable: 35 or 70 m/min. Once the cut is finished and the arm is in its lowest position, the blade drive automatically shuts off. Safety features include blade guards and micro-switches that stop the motor at the end of the cutting cycle or when any guard is opened. Additional safety is provided by automatic shutdown in the event of blade breakage.
