Product features
The universal CORMAK BS 712 R metal band saw allows cutting in both vertical and perpendicular planes to the axis of the material, as well as at any desired angle from 45° to 90°. Cutting feed operates gravitationally via oil flow in a dual-chamber hydraulic cylinder. The arm descent speed is precisely controlled by a flow-regulating valve. The desired blade linear speed is achieved by altering the ratio on the pulley wheels between the worm gear and the drive motor. The saw arm is manufactured from profiled ductile cast iron, providing stiffness during operation and absorbing all types of vibrations. The control panel is mounted on the saw arm. The band saw’s drive system consists of two cast iron wheels: the tension wheel (adjusted by lever) and the drive wheel. Torque from the worm gear is directly transmitted to the drive wheel, with the worm gear itself driven by an electric motor. The correct blade tilt angle is set via a set of bearing rollers. The base of the machine is a rigid steel plate cuboid, with an integrated coolant tank and coolant pump inside. The upper part of the base features a tray for coolant drainage and a chip collector. On the tray, there is a cast iron work table with a clamping vise and the saw arm attached. The vise is equipped with a quick-release system for fast material clamping. In the lower part of the stand, there are holes for wheel axles. Electrical components comply with CE requirements, ensuring safety during operation. The saw features a limit switch that stops the machine at the end of the cutting process, an emergency stop mushroom switch, and a series of microswitches that stop the saw when, for example, the belt guard or blade guard is opened. Additionally, our model features an integrated wire brush blade cleaner that removes chips from the blade—this prevents clogging, ensuring more efficient cutting compared to competitors.
