The professional, automatic Stork Townsend BBC1500W backbone cutter is a highly specialized processing machine designed for slaughter lines and high-capacity meat processing plants. This unit is essential for the processing of pork carcasses (especially bellies and primal cuts) as well as for the processing of large poultry (turkeys, geese), where accurate removal or scoring of the backbone and dorsal bones determines the grading and final commercial value of the meat cuts.

The machine operates by automatic centering of the piece in the working area. The product is fed along dedicated guides that stabilize the carcass right before contact with the cutting disc, which has an optimally selected tooth profile. The 1.5 kW drive ensures clean, perfectly straight cuts without bone splinters or tearing of adjoining muscles (such as loin or tenderloin). Using a mechanical backbone cutter eliminates the need for hard, hazardous, and inconsistent manual work with cleaver saws or manual splitting devices.
