Power & Free Conveyor Systems

Overhead-mounted Power & Free conveyor systems feature free trolleys driven by chains and carriers that transport material to a designated location.

The carriers are attached to the free trolleys and are typically engaged to the drive chain via a dog fitted to the free trolley. The dog can be disengaged by a cam action, either within the free trolley or at the chain dog, usually triggered by accumulating behind another free trolley or engaging a stop blade. The chain continues to move while the carrier remains stationary until the free trolley is re-engaged with the chain.
