To remove impurities that can complicate the storage or sale of grain, specialized cleaning equipment—known as separators—is used.

These machines are designed for use in both small and large agricultural operations. The operator can individually adjust the fraction size and process various types of grain, including rye, wheat, sunflower seeds, corn, pulses, or coffee beans.

Operating principle of the separator:
The grain is fed into the inlet hopper, where it is evenly distributed before passing by gravity into the separation chamber. There, an intense airflow first separates heavy impurities and stones, directing them into the first fraction.

The cleaned grain moves on to the next level, while lighter impurities and broken kernels are carried by the airflow onto the last tray. Dust and fine particles are removed via the air outlet.

Through calibration and mass separation, the seed is optimally prepared for sowing, with only the fullest and healthiest kernels selected. This results in greater uniformity, reduces seed requirement, and increases yield.

Pre-cleaning targets the removal of dust and partial elimination of non-grain residues, accelerating the preparation of grain for intermediate storage and further processing.
