McConnel Barrier mower

The McConnel guardrail mower is a hydraulically driven mowing machine with independent PTO drive. The device can be easily mounted to the front or rear of the tractor using a three-point linkage or DIN plate, and can operate on both the right and left sides by simply reversing the mowing discs.

Built on a robust tubular frame with a total weight of 1,500 kg, it is equipped with two side arms that can be opened to overcome guardrails, steel cables, and hedges up to a maximum height of 170 cm. It can simultaneously cut from both sides and underneath the obstacle with a cutting width of approximately 150 cm.

The machine’s high versatility and working speed are partly due to the ability to open the outer arm by 180°, which enables fast and easy positioning. Most importantly, this feature allows the machine to continue mowing with the inner disc while the outer disc can be raised to pass over road signs or advertising signs that may be present along the way—the blade rotation is automatically disengaged during this process.
