The Uniq series is the fully-fledged foundation of our range and shares all the features that have established the Kündig edge sanding machine’s reputation in the market as a robust, versatile precision instrument. A key element of its extremely solid construction is the motorized oscillating sanding unit, which offers a maximum oscillation travel of 90 mm and the ability to tilt motor-driven up to 45°. All standard edge processing operations can be performed at up to four sanding stations.

Ingenious Design – The Sanding Unit

The core of all our edge sanders is the sanding aggregate, which offers a range of intelligent functions and features. Unlike many machines, our sanding belt does not oscillate by tilting the belt rollers. Instead, the entire sanding unit moves up and down. Oscillation stroke and range are set easily at the touch of a button. Thanks to flexible adjustment and the large oscillation travel, sanding belts can be fully utilized across their entire width—without laboriously adjusting the table height. The oscillation mechanism is powered by a separate motor.

The sanding aggregate can also be tilted easily using a rotary switch, also motor-driven. The unit can be inclined between 90° and 45°. Thanks to the well-designed swivel mechanism, full oscillation is always available and double-sided sanding is possible—even simultaneously. The differing table heights of the front and rear sanding stations also ensure that the belt is not used at the same height simultaneously. Furthermore, the combination of swivel mechanism and differing table heights ensures that the gap between sanding aggregate and worktable is minimized at every angle setting.

Belt change is simple and accomplished in seconds.

The Four Sanding Stations

1st Station: "Veneer Side"

The front station is designed for precise calibration of materials and operates like a jointer-planer. The infeed fence is adjusted by a rotary knob to set material removal to tenths of a millimeter. Importantly, the fence remains parallel; it does not tilt. Infeed fence, sanding pad, and outfeed fence are always parallel, eliminating the possibility of rounding workpieces. Fine adjustment of the sanding pad for grit compensation or zeroing between fence and pad is possible via handwheel. The heavy-duty worktable on this side is fitted with sliding inserts.

2nd Station: "Solid Wood Side"

This station is ideal for sanding flat, angled, beveled, or outwardly curved workpieces. As with the other stations, the entire sanding aggregate oscillates. The belt runs over a graphite surface for cooling across the full width. A mitre fence is also provided on the solid wood side.
