Roller-type glue application units for edge banding machines require regular maintenance, care, and cleaning. Collected wood chips, burnt adhesive residues, and other foreign particles adversely affect a consistently thin adhesive application. This applies when using EVA hot-melt adhesives and especially with PUR adhesives. When the glue pot remains in the machine, poor accessibility limits the cleaning results. If the unit is removed—which is quick and easy with most brands—rapid cooling prevents thorough cleaning. Additionally, a stable holder for the still-hot glue pot and a drive for the glue roller are usually lacking.
With this easy-to-use device, routine cleaning and maintenance can be easily carried out by operating or maintenance personnel themselves.
