The PDFD line consists of two main components: the DFC 60 tenoning/milling cell (where the ends of the strips are machined), and the PHSL lengthwise finger jointing press, which joins the elements into a strip up to 6.6 m in length, with the option to program up to eight cross-cuts dividing the strip into segments of user-defined lengths. Between these main components there are transfer devices that simultaneously perform preliminary tenoning. The presented line configuration enables an output of approx. 8,000 running meters/shift.

The microprocessor-based control system allows flexible adjustment of operating parameters to the user's requirements. This machine can process both “calzing”-type elements as well as elements for worktop production (joined “end-to-end”). Use of a receiving table with automatic feeding of strips onto the PHSL press infeed conveyor allows the entire line to be operated by a single worker responsible for loading the elements. The receiving table is equipped with a buffer shutter to increase efficiency and workflow smoothness. The line operates in automatic cycle mode with manual material feeding. Line components can be arranged in different (customer-agreed) configurations to adapt the machine layout to the user’s premises.
