The extruder consists of a base frame, a gearbox, and a distribution unit with special bearings designed to ensure optimal operation under a back pressure of up to 150 bar.
The barrel is a modular cylindrical type with a length equivalent to 37 screw diameters, achieved through eight individual segments.
Each section of the barrel is temperature-controlled by forced circulation of demineralised water through a series of horizontal bores in each module.
Heating is provided by cartridge heaters. The screws consist of interchangeable segments and are mounted on splined shafts, allowing configuration to be adapted as required for specific processing needs.
Barrels and screws are manufactured from high wear-resistant steel.
The degassing unit comprises a 1.5 kW liquid-ring vacuum pump, connected to the designated module via easy-to-clean piping. Extracted vapours are condensed in a dedicated container for ease of maintenance.
The drive system features a Siemens AC motor rated at 51 kW, complete with inverter, housed in a cabinet equipped with all necessary safety and control signalling devices.
The control panel (integrated with the extruder) is divided into two sections: Power and temperature control.
The cabinet is fitted with an air-conditioning unit.
The extruder is supplied complete with closed-circuit water/water temperature control unit (1.1 kW pump).
Chiller excluded.
