BDK S-1200 Laminar Flow Safety Workbench

Operating Principle

The safety workbench is a laboratory device in which a largely turbulence-free (laminar) displacement flow prevails in the work area.

Both the air flowing through the work area and the exhaust air are purified by a high-performance particle filter.

Scope of Delivery and Features

- Model Versions
The safety workbench is manufactured in three different sizes—BDK-S 1200, 1500, and 1800.

- Airflow Monitoring
The airflow velocity in both the recirculating air (downflow work area) and exhaust (inflow/extraction air) areas is monitored by flow sensors. Any disruptions are indicated by a warning light and audible alarm.

- View Screen Monitoring
The laminated safety glass viewing screen is counterbalanced for easy and infinitely adjustable manual movement. If the screen is not in the working position (opening larger than 190 mm), this is displayed and also indicated by an audible alarm.

- Control Panel
All operating switches, membrane keypad, audible alarm, indicator lights, and the display for various operating states are arranged on the control panel.

- Microprocessor Control
The microprocessor control system is self-monitoring and continuously displays the airflow velocity.

- Device Depth < 800 mm (840 mm)
Due to its compact depth, the safety workbench fits through all standard laboratory doors.

- Housing Design
For safety reasons, the housing is made of 1.5 mm thick Zincor sheet metal with a welded pressure zone.

- Contamination Areas
All contamination-prone areas are surrounded by negative pressure.
