Machine Concept:
The Weima high-performance shredder, with its flexible applications, can process all types of wood materials (hardwood, softwood, chipboard, MDF materials, plywood, veneer remnants, etc.) into fuel chips, achieving significant volume reduction especially for bulky materials.

Operation:
The machine is equipped with a large feed hopper and can be loaded either via conveyor belt or manually. This hopper can be tailored to individual requirements, ensuring continuous and cost-effective material feeding without the need for manual assistance. A hydraulically controlled pusher automatically feeds the wood waste to be shredded to the rotor’s cutting area, adjusting based on load. The internal pusher guides are made from highly wear-resistant plastic (polyamide) and are adjustable. The hydraulic cylinders are mounted with a cardanic suspension to prevent lateral forces on the piston seals.

The patented, profiled V-rotor is made from solid steel, has a diameter of 252 mm, and operates at a rotational speed of 80–120 rpm. The concave-ground, aggressive, and four-way reversible knives/cutting crowns are mounted in recessed pockets on special knife holders. This patented system enables for the first time a reduced gap between counter-knife and rotor, ensuring high throughput, low energy consumption, and optimal discharge of the shredded material.

Power is transferred from the electric motors via V-belts to a heavy-duty gearbox mounted on one end of the rotor shaft.
