Temperature shock testing is used to assess the resistance of components, devices, and other products to rapid changes in ambient temperature. Test samples are subjected to quick temperature fluctuations in air, with alternating upper and lower temperature loads. By means of these cyclic stresses and the accelerated aging caused by temperature changes, potential weak points in the test item can be made visible.
