The SU 1500 Variant universal spindle lathe is a numerically controlled machine suitable for roughing and finishing operations on shafts and flange parts, thread cutting, drilling, taper turning, and various rotationally symmetrical surfaces. The machine is equipped with a rigid horizontal bed; the guiding surfaces of the bed are hardened and ground, while the mating surfaces of the longitudinal carriage are coated with Turcite B slideway material. The SU 1500 Variant is a machine with automatic cycle control, equipped with a Heidenhain control system.

The drive for the longitudinal feed (Z-axis) is provided via a servo drive directly connected to the ballscrew. The cross feed (X-axis) is similarly driven via a servo motor directly coupled to the ballscrew. Position feedback for both axes is provided by rotary encoders mounted to the servomotors. The lathe can be operated both manually or under program control.

The control system is very user-friendly. The guideways are regularly lubricated by the central lubrication system. The TOS SU 1500 Variant has been mechanically and electrically inspected by us.
