CNC-controlled drilling and milling center in gantry design with worktable and workpiece supports suitable for:
- Vertical drilling on panel surfaces
- Horizontal drilling on all four workpiece edges
- Grooving with disc cutter
- General milling operations (3-4-5 axes)
MACHINE STRUCTURE
The base structure is a monolithic construction made of thick-walled steel, reinforced throughout the entire machine bed for extreme rigidity and stability through welded-in reinforcements. The table design with a large base is the key to ensuring permanent precision and stability. The machine layout offers the operator an optimal workflow with a minimal footprint. The moving gantry is built from a solid monoblock and is guided on prism-ground rails with ball-bearing carriages in the X-axis. The mobile unit carries the operating unit, which is also mounted on prism-ground rails and ball-bearing guides.
AXIS MOVEMENT
All axes move on large-cross-section linear prism guides with wide-bearing ball-bearing shoes to ensure optimal gliding even at the highest speeds and accelerations. The precise and fast positioning of the moving gantry (X-axis) is achieved via rack and pinion with helical teeth. Large-diameter ball screws ensure accurate positioning of the working unit along the moving gantry (Y and Z axes).
MOTORS, DRIVES, AND INVERTERS
Perfect mechanical dynamics and maximum positioning accuracy are achieved with high-quality drives and brushless motors, sized for speeds up to 90 m/min, ensuring the best possible surface finish.
CONTROL SYSTEM
The control unit consists of a numerical controller for milling and drilling with "Xilog Maestro" graphic interface on a Windows 7-based Office operating system:
- 17" color LCD screen
- QWERTY keyboard
- Swiveling operator panel
- Machine operation interface with Xilog Maestro software
