Transport systems
Depending on customer requirements, transport systems can either move along the floor or be suspended from rails.
- For convenient manual installation solutions, we recommend suspended cross beams (transverse conveyors).

- In automated systems, chain conveyors are most commonly used. These do not stop and present an excellent solution for companies focused on process quality and repeatability.
- For companies producing different items simultaneously, for example with several booths using different colours, flexible solutions based on non-powered conveyors are used. This is the most expensive option.
All installations are custom-built based on customer specifications. Continuous overhead chain conveyor systems are designed and manufactured according to individual client orders.
It is also possible with this system to produce floor conveyor systems on which items such as flowerpots or rims (see photo) can be arranged. ROMER also produces overhead transport systems.
Cross beams (transverse conveyors) are designed and manufactured for the requirements of specific installations.
Use of photoelectric cells
Using a photoelectric cell in the product area allows you to measure the length and thus gives the option to activate the guns as soon as the item is within their range, and to switch them off immediately after coating. The photoelectric cell is standard equipment. Identification of items using special markings.
Above the carrier loop, there are panels with identification holes. Based on this, the PLC controller, in conjunction with the photoelectric cell, recognises the coated item and switches the guns on and off at the correct time – saving energy and powder coating material. Vertical shape detection.
By using light barriers with horizontal sensors, the PLC control can analyse the vertical shape of a part. The PLC tracks the time at which the part should appear in the gun area—this allows for selective activation/deactivation of the guns. With light gates equipped with multiple sensors positioned both horizontally and vertically, this solution enables precise measurement of the workpiece’s dimensions, which also allows for the control of manipulators.
