Fully automatic operating cycle and minimal auxiliary times enabled by freely programmable SIEMENS programmable controller S5 for all machining steps, e.g. rapid traverse, feed, cutter on/off, for loading device, tailstock, possible shifting, etc. With piece counter,
program numbering, and 30-position digital error display.
Pneumatic workpiece loading and unloading device parallel to the workpiece axis for shaft-shaped workpieces approx. 140 mm in length x 8 mm Ø, with pneumatic double gripper for loading and unloading workpieces; raw parts are placed in exchange cassettes outside and
then inserted into the loading unit.
The double gripper places the parts between the workpiece spindle and tailstock; the tailstock quill pushes the parts into the main spindle collet and clamps them simultaneously.
Finished parts are ejected from the main spindle and also returned to the (finished parts) cassette by the gripper. The entire process is electrically monitored and controlled.
The complete loading device is enclosed with Plexiglas.
