Based on this, the PLC controller, in conjunction with the photoelectric cell, recognises the coated item and switches the guns on and off at the correct time – saving energy and powder coating material. Vertical shape detection. By using light barriers with horizontal sensors, the PLC control can analyse the vertical shape of a part. The PLC tracks the time at which the part should appear in the gun area—this allows for selective activation/deactivation of the guns. With light gates equipped with multiple sensors positioned both horizontally and vertically, this solution enables precise measurement of the workpiece’s dimensions, which also allows for the control of manipulators.
