APPLICATION
For clamping, rotating, and tilting round workpieces during manual or automatic welding, mainly in pipeline construction (prefabrication and on-site assembly) as well as apparatus engineering. Besides high efficiency (elimination of an assistant, no interruptions when turning piece-by-piece), there are qualitative improvements: no weld seam interruptions, consistently identical welding positions.
DESCRIPTION
The stator, designed as a solid-wall construction, houses the electrical controls and the tilting drive. Tilting is manual via hand crank (U 150 and U 500) (electrically powered as standard on U 1000); tilting angle for U 500: approx. 135°. Electric tilting drive also available as option. The tiltable part consists of drive and roller housing, clamping column, clamping arm, and clamping roller. The machine is also available in a non-tilting version under the types U 150 H, U 500 H, and U 1000 H. In general, all U-series machines have the drive and electrical controls protected inside the frame or roller housing.
