Grinding with JUPITER means centerless cylindrical grinding, optionally also with CBN. JUNKER combines this cylindrical grinding method with CBN grinding wheels, offering significant productivity advantages, especially for high volume production due to the long service life of the grinding wheel. In addition, simultaneous material removal across the entire length of the part ensures considerably reduced processing times, both in serial and small batch manufacturing.

There are two grinding processes in centerless grinding: through-feed grinding and plunge grinding. Both methods are possible with the JUPITER series.

- Shafts with constant diameter
- Piston rods (e.g., for shock absorbers)
- Small pistons for hydraulics and injection systems
