IGM has extensive experience in the implementation of robotic systems for forklift production. For customer-specific welding solutions of lifting masts, lattice masts, main frames, engine frames, and hydraulic cylinders, IGM plays a key role.
For the production of hydraulic cylinders, an automatic system comprising a robot in an enclosed station with conveyor and clamping device is used. For different assembly lengths of lifting masts, the IGM offline program assembly system iPAT is used to adapt the robot programs. This allows individual program steps or groups of steps to be shifted and copied on a PC. Geometry data can be imported from the CAD system via an interface.
Robotic systems for welding the main frames generally consist of a 3-axis sliding system and an L-manipulator. This ensures that workpieces can always be rotated to the optimal accessibility and welding position.
For extreme productivity requirements, automatic production lines for components are available. These flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) are designed for processing a single workpiece type in multiple identical robot cells. The individual robot welding stations are linked via an automated guided vehicle system. The carriage runs on rails and carries a satellite carriage that can enter all stations for loading, unloading, preparation, and welding. Workpieces are automatically clamped by a special fixture.
Examples of end products: hydraulic cylinders, forks, main frames, cabin frames, small components.
