Plunge grinding

In the plunge grinding process, workpieces with stepped or profiled outside surfaces, such as nozzle needles, valves, cross pins, gear and electric motor shafts, are machined. Possible technologies include straight or angular plunge grinding, single or multi-part production, plunge grinding in multiple operations performed either simultaneously or sequentially, as well as oscillating plunge grinding.

Through-feed grinding is used for machining unprofiled workpieces, such as cylindrical and tapered rollers, rings, rods, and hydraulic spools. This highly productive grinding method is mainly used for series and mass production of precision components.
