The Desktop Metal Studio System 2 printer was designed from the ground up for simple installation and ease of use. Its process is similar to the safest and most widely used 3D printing method, Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF). Unlike laser-based systems that selectively melt metal powder, the Studio System 2 extrudes bound metal rods, eliminating many of the requirements typically associated with metal 3D printing and enabling features such as gyroid infill for a lightweight strength structure.
