Chilworth JCI 164 High Voltage Adapter
General Description
The JCI 146 is a voltmeter adapter component designed for integration into broader experimental systems. In combination with our JCI 140, the system allows measurement of live conductors with voltages up to ± 60 kV DC through direct connection, with an accuracy of ± 2% (nominal), ensuring minimal loading effects on the device under test.
The high input impedance and low capacitance of the JCI 146 facilitate more precise DC voltage measurements. Other conventional direct high-voltage measurement techniques (e.g., high-voltage meters, capacitive and resistive divider networks, etc.) often yield inaccurate results due to loading effects caused by the measurement setup.
This device can be used to verify the calibration and accuracy of high-voltage sources by power supply utilities, calibration laboratories, and cable manufacturers, among other application areas.
