The primary purpose of this type of lathe is the machining of pipes. Accordingly, this machine type is widely used in the oil industry. Pipe-threading lathes have great capability for machining threaded connections on cylindrical and conical internal and external surfaces of pipes with large diameters. Clamping of pipes with two chucks and the supplied steady rests enable machining of pipes of great length. Suitable both for manufacturing parts and assemblies for the oil and transmission industries as well as maintenance work on such equipment.
