Dadurch wird nicht nur ein äußerst präziser Drahtvorschub selbst bei niedrigen Geschwindigkeiten ermöglicht, sondern auch die Möglichkeit, die Rückzugsstrecke des Drahtes in „mm“ einzustellen. Nachdem das Material abgekühlt ist, kann der Draht erneut vorgeschoben werden (kleinste Schrittweite 0,1 mm). Gerade beim Laserschweißen ist dies ein entscheidender Vorteil gegenüber Drahtvorschüben aus Fernost. Dort wird das Rückziehen und Vorschieben des Drahtes lediglich zeitgesteuert, was dazu führt, dass die Spitze des Schweißdrahtes nie exakt an die Stelle zurückkehrt, wo der Rückzug begonnen hat. Der Citronix-Drahtvorschub wurde so entwickelt, dass nicht nur der Drahtvorschub selbst geregelt werden kann, sondern zusätzlich auch sowohl die Laserquelle als auch das Gas-Magnetventil ein- und ausgeschaltet werden können. Dies ist ein weiterer wichtiger Unterschied und Vorteil gegenüber anderen Herstellern, da bei Laserschweißgeräten in der Regel keine Punktschweißtechnologie integriert ist. Wer also Bleche im Punktschweißverfahren fügen möchte, kann die Punktzeit einstellen und der Drahtvorschub steuert dann die Laserquelle. Der Drahtvorschub bietet vier Betriebsarten: 1. Kontinuierliches Schweißen mit Drahtvorschub 2. Kontinuierliches Schweißen ohne Drahtvorschub 3. Punktschweißen ohne Drahtvorschub Der Drahtvorschub verfügt über 200 Speicherslots: Sind die Parameter einmal festgelegt, können sie abgespeichert und im Klartext beliebig benannt werden, um die Bedienung zu erleichtern. Außerdem haben wir ein Fußpedal entwickelt, das an den Drahtvorschub angeschlossen werden kann und die Vorschubgeschwindigkeit regelt. Es funktioniert analog zum Gaspedal eines Fahrzeugs: Wenn Sie beispielsweise am Display eine Maximalgeschwindigkeit von 10 Metern pro Minute einstellen und das Pedal ganz durchtreten, beträgt die Geschwindigkeit 10 Meter pro Minute. Wird das Pedal halb gedrückt, liegt die Geschwindigkeit entsprechend bei der Hälfte. Dies ist besonders sinnvoll, wenn der Bediener an einem festen Platz arbeitet, beispielsweise im Sitzen. Sollte dieses Pedal nicht benötigt werden, kann der Drahtvorschub so in das System eingebunden werden, dass der Schweißprozess über einen Taster am Brenner gestartet und gestoppt wird.
