The OS 3008 welding fume extractor is ideal for the extraction of fumes and vapors generated during welding, polishing, cutting, or grinding of rare precious metals. It is capable of filtering large volumes of airborne metal particles, which are harmful to health. This unit stands out due to its high purification efficiency, low noise emission, and relatively compact footprint. It is suitable for fume extraction in arc welding, CO₂ welding, MIG/MAG processes, slot arc welding, and welding in gas-shielded environments.

These extractors are equipped with high-efficiency filter cartridges, which differ from conventional filters due to an integrated PTFE membrane layer (polytetrafluoroethylene).

In conventional filters, the fiber length of traditional filter materials such as cotton, satin, paper, and other cellulose fibers ranges between 5 and 60 µm. Soot particles contained in the extracted smoke can accumulate inside the filter and clog the filter element. When clogging becomes excessive, ash can no longer be effectively removed from the filter element, air resistance increases, and the airflow decreases. As filter contamination progresses, filtration efficiency drops dramatically.

Our filter features a PTFE membrane layer, whose fine structure effectively blocks microscopic dust particles. These particles form a dust cake on the surface of the filter material. Most particulates are trapped on the outer surface of the filter and do not penetrate the filter itself. Over time, accumulated particles can be removed from the filter by a blast of clean compressed air.
