We overhaul your existing Karstens and Bahmüller cylindrical grinding machines.

The overhaul for Bahmüller and Karstens cylindrical grinding machines includes the following:

1. Enclosure / Full machine guarding
- New paint finish in RAL 7035, RAL 7011
- New 10 mm polycarbonate safety viewing window
- New hinges and bearings for the workpiece changeover door

2. Grinding wheel headstock
- Complete cleaning and repainting
- Inspection of the bearings, grinding or replacement of plain bearings as needed
- Inspection and cleaning of the lubrication system
- Overhaul of the grinding spindle
- New coolant hoses, valves, and aluminum coolant nozzles
- Installation of new belts

3. Tailstock
- Complete cleaning and repainting
- Overhaul of the quill
- Inspection of the bearings, grinding or replacement of plain bearings as needed
- Disassembly and cleaning of fine adjustment, replacement of defective parts as needed

4. Workpiece headstock
- Complete cleaning and repainting
- Inspection and replacement of bearings as needed
- Inspection and cleaning of the lubrication system
- Overhaul of the workpiece spindle
- Installation of new belts

5. Hydraulics
- Complete cleaning and repainting
- Bearing inspection of the hydraulic motor
- Overhaul or replacement of the pump as needed
- Complete replacement of hoses
- Filter replacement
- Hydraulic circuit diagram

6. Pneumatics
- New maintenance unit
- New purge air unit for length measuring systems
- New pneumatic lines, connectors, distributors, and small materials
- Pneumatic circuit diagram

7. Lubrication for spindles
- Complete cleaning and repainting
- Bearing inspection of the lubrication motor
- Overhaul or replacement of the pump as needed
- Inspection and cleaning of the lubrication system
- Inspection and replacement of lubrication monitoring if needed

8. Central lubrication
- Complete cleaning and repainting
- Bearing inspection of the lubrication motor
- Overhaul or replacement of the pump as needed
- Inspection and cleaning of the lubrication system
- Inspection and replacement of lubrication monitoring if equipped

9. Machine bed
- Complete internal and external cleaning
- Grinding and new paint finish
- Hand scraping and measuring of V- and flat guideways
- Installation of a new (rotatable) operator panel

10. X and Z axes
- New bearings in the X-axis
- New ball screws
- New axial bearings
- Surface grinding, hand scraping as needed
- Overhaul of the X-axis coarse adjustment

11. Geometry
- Complete hand scraping and alignment of geometry for:
Grinding wheel headstock, workpiece headstock, tailstock, X and Z axes
- Preparation of a geometric inspection protocol

12. Electrical system
- Construction of a new Rittal control cabinet with Siemens components: contactors, motor protection circuit breakers, Finder relays, Siemens drives, NCU, power supply, Siemens PLC, etc.; optional MPM, Jenoptik, and other control devices possible
- Creation of a new E-Plan 8 circuit diagram
- Completely new wiring with PUR cables
- New control devices, switches, pushbuttons (Siemens, Eaton)

13. CNC control system
- Siemens SINUMERIK ONE control
- Siemens servo drives and frequency converters with CU
- Siemens asynchronous motor (grinding spindle)
- Siemens synchronous motors for X, Z, and workpiece spindle axes

14. Length measuring systems
- Absolute length measuring systems by Heidenhain

- CE marking and protocol
