Machine Condition:
The feed hopper with bag opener was previously used at a large recycling facility, where recyclables from yellow bags or commercial waste were tipped into the hopper by wheel loaders. The bags were opened by the bag opener, and the materials were conveyed in a metered manner to a sorting plant or sent for further processing. The unit operated flawlessly until it was dismantled and replaced by a larger system with higher throughput. The machine was dismantled into components in our workshop, partially refurbished, reassembled, and tested under operating conditions.
The following refurbishment works were carried out and parts were replaced:
• Disassembly of the feed hopper and bag opener into individual components, cleaning, partial sandblasting, priming, and repainting of steel parts
• Various wear and cover plates were newly manufactured and installed

• Worn ends (approx. 40 cbm) of the walking floor beams were removed, new tubes welded on, and the walking floor beams resurfaced
• All sliding plastic panels for the hydraulic walking floor were replaced
• Removal of the hydraulic unit from the walking floor, complete drainage of the hydraulic oil reservoir, replacement of oil filters, refill with new hydraulic oil
• Replacement of all three hydraulic manifolds, all valves, oil sight glass, and all hydraulic hoses on the unit
• Seal kits and hydraulic hoses were renewed on all three walking floor hydraulic cylinders
• All six end limit switches (proximity sensors) on the walking floor were replaced
• The conveyor chains on both left and right sides of the scraper conveyor were replaced
• Seven scraper bars on the scraper conveyor were replaced
• The drive motor for the tear-off blades was replaced
• All nine pneumatic cylinders for the pressure pipes were replaced. All pneumatic lines and fittings were renewed
• All sliding plastic panels for the hydraulic movement of the bag opener were replaced. The bag opener can be traversed in depth, allowing the system to be used for commercial or residual waste without the bag opener
• Side impact protection plates on both sides were replaced
• Various wear parts on the bag opener were replaced
• The entire installation was electrically rewired and reconnected
• The system control cabinet was reverted by BRT Hartner to autonomous single control, and the standard program was reloaded
• The unit was commissioned and tested by BRT Hartner (see function video)
